Animal testing

Laboratory animals are often seen as objects and resources, which is not only visible in the formulation of research questions, but also in the methodology, implementation – overall, the general view.

Animals are often kept in solitary confinement. They have not consented, but are yet inflicted pain upon. They can also suffer from stress and behavioural disorders, which influences the outcome of studies.

Smaller animals or those less resembling humans are also given less ethical consideration. Not to mention, laboratory animals can resist by looking the other way. Finally, more effort should be made to replace animal testing.
