Animal languages
Throughout history, many western philosophers considered language to be exclusively human. Ignoring that animals do have their own forms of language – and even dialects – is simply a form of discrimination; anti-speciesism.
There are various animal species whose languages are similar to human language as they have grammatical structures. For instance, Caribbean reef squids use verbs and nouns through changing colour patterns, and they can flirt with one side of their body and ward off other squids with the other side of their body.
There are more examples of animal communication: dolphins receive names from their mothers; bats can gossip; chickens give names to humans.
